When I was 18, I returned home to Nova Scotia for the first time in around 15 years. My Grandparents had this pond which I used to scout for frogs when I was about two or three. One night when I was sitting at the Pond's edge, I stood up and heard a large noise behind me. I turned to see what it was and saw a deer standing about six meters away. All around the deer sparkled fireflies which it had stirred up by running through the long grass. It stared at me for a while, turned, and then ran into the trees, leaving the fireflies to slowly settle again.
